Left Alone

I try to learn or try something new everyday. Doing so keeps my mind sharp and spirit young. This is my attempt at monochromatic art. I still have much to learn, but this is so much fun! ($75, Color Pencil, 8.5″x11″, Unframed)

Sara’ngetti

Reaching out to my African roots happens daily. My reflection in the mirror reminds me of my rich heritage, my talents that I have inherited from my fore-fathers and mothers. To stand free and tall while embracing their love lifts my spirits. I feel beautiful with every stroke of the pencil. ($350 USD, 8.5″x11″, Portrait, Unframed)

Serenity Natural

I spent today creating images that depict my emotions. I felt beautifully natural. I felt fabulous. Serenity Natural stands on the shores as the crystal blue river flows by. The copper sun flashes its gentle rays upon Serenity Natural’s cheeks. There is nothing more gorgeous than a soul at peace. ($350 USD, 8.5″x11″, Portrait, Unframed)

Herizon

It’s always a great feeling to stand within the confines of nature, to be part of its love and be embraced by its spirit. “Herizon” is my visual testament to the inner peace one can have when living according to nature’s rhythm. ($350 USD, 8.5″x11″, Portrait, Unframed)

Elements of Nature

Yesterday, was a very artistically productive day. I wanted to paint representations of the four elements of nature: Air, Fire, Earth, and Water. I began with basic acrylic paintings; but soon realized more was needed to convey my messages. So, I opted to use glue, old newspapers, and plaster.

Oak Park Conservatory – An Amazon Forest in the City

I recently took a trip to the historical Oak Park Conservatory in the Chicago area. It’s a small, volunteer-operated facility that brings the natural beauty of the Amazon to City Dwellers.

It’s Genetic!

I come from a family of very talented people, both maternal and paternal. We consist of visual artists, musicians, vocalists, dancers, and writers. With each brush stroke I celebrate my mom, Betty J. Robinson-Burton, who is a visual artist and clothes designer/tailor.

Unconditional Beauty

We often hear that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However, even when beauty is beheld it comes with conditions. It’s either thin, muscular, curvy, petite, or tall to fit another person’s liking.
