Painting stories one stroke at a time
Since I was 14 years old, I didn’t believe I could draw or paint. While in middle school, my art teacher failed me because I was unable to draw a perfect geometrical circle, square, rectangle, or octagon. I gave up on being an artist. I was sure that my art teacher knew everything about art and was able to identify the true artists.
It wasn’t until I participated in Art Therapy for Veterans at the Hines VA hospital that I realized my middle school teacher was wrong. I am an artist whose style is unique and telling. I have been painting since May 2013 and have found my artistic voice through each paint stroke.
My wonderful boyfriend continually encourages me to paint. He even bought me this paint kit as well as several canvases on which to paint. With each stroke of the paint brush onto the canvas, I am reminded of his love and belief in my talents. What a wonderful feeling!
Within these pages you will find my art work along with a few background stories or poems. Now, I am addicted to painting. I must paint or I feel incomplete. Starting to paint at 50 helped me realize no one is too young or too old to share their artistic talents with the world.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you enjoy my paintings as I have painted each with the deepest love.
